The installation transformed the factory space into a labyrinth of repurposed fabric drops from previous projects, suspended from the ceiling and reimagined with exaggerated floral motifs. Each piece was given a new lease of life, creating a dreamlike landscape of pattern and colour for visitors to explore and enjoy.
At the entrance, our recycled-wood handprinting table invited guests to get hands-on. Visitors brought along clothes, accessories, and spare fabrics to transform them into their very own pattern-tastic creations during our drop-in workshops, a lively mix of creativity and experimentation for families, design enthusiasts, and (big) kids alike.
The festival also hosted a conversation between our founders, Alistair McAuley and Paul Simmons, and writer and curator Hugo Macdonald. The discussion offered a closer look at our design practice, our maximalist approach to pattern, and the inspiration behind our latest collection, Stucco.
From wandering through cascades of fabric to printing their own designs, festival-goers experienced first-hand the playful and provocative spirit that defines Timorous Beasties.
