The book takes its title from the 12th-century text by Gerard of Wales, but Blindboy reimagines it through a modern lens. Blending sattire, folklore, and sharp social commentary, Topographia Hibernica offers readers a series of surreal, thought-provoking essays that explore the textures of Irish identity today.
Our role was to create a completely bespoke series of illustrations in a Toile de Jouy style that sit alongside Blindboy's words, echoing his mix of the strange, the political and the poetic. Much like our patterns, his writing is layered and intricate - by turns dark, witty and subversive - making this collaboration an excellent fit.
