Designed to show the benefits and impact created by the Wellcome Trust, the Timorous Beasties window display was installed in 2005.  Familiar textile designs of Paisley Patterns and Argyle checks on lampshades revealed, on close inspection, germs under the microscope and interlocking syringes.  Images hidden in daytime appeared on lampshades once illuminated.  The backdrop was created with Nottingham Lace, inspired by the first line of defence against malaria - the mosquito net - delicately interwoven with mosquitoes, syringes and microscopes.
