V&A Boardroom
Client : Victoria & Albert Museum
Date : July 2010
Inspired by the thistles and roses in the V&A architecture, Timorous Beasties designed a custom wallpaper for the refurbished boardroom of the Victoria and Albert Museum in London. The pattern of the wallpaper, was placed at a high level so as not to compete with the artwork in the room but also to form a frame around the main portrait of Queen Victoria. The design was specifically engineered to fill the large space and to create a warmer feel to quite a formal room. A large central rug (manufactured by Loophouse), drapes and a hand printed blind with elements of the design, were also produced to complete the look and showcase the high tech production methods of digital fabric printing alongside the lo-tech, traditional methods of hand-printing and hand-tufting rugs.
